Perhaps it was because there was a record collector meet on eslewhere yesterday that the pickings at the Sunday swap meet were so few. I did come away though with Derek and Clives’ first album (I’ll play that one loud to annoy the neighbours) and a Bee Gees compilation. This particular Bee Gees record has four band members on the cover. That’s right – four! It wasn’t always only the 3 brothers Gibb. Those were words that I never thought I would say while record hunting, but I did. I have so many almost vinyl triptychs, where I have two records with a similar cover but lack the third, and that Cliff album that I saw over the weekend would have completed one such display, but oh well. Yes, I could have easily found some self titled albums amongst my collection, as there are so many, but it takes a certain chutzpah to do a second self titled album differentiated by the number 2.
It could also just be that they couldn’t think of a good album title, and since eponymous worked last time, they thought let us do it again, as a sequel.
